Georgia Institute of Technology

Research Strategy

The Dental Technology Center (DenTeC) focuses on world-class research in technologies applicable to dental and craniofacial health through collaborative partnerships with Georgia Tech, dental schools, industry, and clinical dentists. It draws upon the diverse engineering, science, and management expertise across the academic campus and the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) to form interdisciplinary teams of researchers that can apply a broad range of innovative technologies to the problems and requirements identified by the dental and craniofacial community.

In the near future, Georgia Tech will create a Center for Applied Biomedicine. This world-class interdisciplinary research center, which will include DenTeC, will focus on the intersection of biomedicine, optical physics, materials, and advanced computing. Its purpose will be to enhance the fundamental knowledge and manipulation of cellular, molecular, and tissue processes. Advancements will be aimed at development and application of revolutionary diagnostic, interventional, and regenerative medical technologies.
