Outreach
For the Community
DenTeC continues to investigate ways in which researchers can improve the methods in which dental care is currently provided. Through research and education DenTeC has been teaching doctors how to work more quickly and efficiently while providing more predictable results and maximizing patient comfort. Now efforts are under way to expand the outreach efforts of Georgia Tech by providing more in-depth research opportunities in to the areas of ergonomics and human factors, public health, patent education, prevention and early detection.
Massell collaboration. – The Ben Massell Clinic and DenTeC are working together to create a state-of –the art facility. The facility, staffed in large part by volunteers, is designed to provide unparalleled quality care to the underserved population. Clinicians, volunteers and patients alike will experience the latest advances in dental and craniofacial medicine.
For Clinicians
DenTeC faculty and staff work closely with dental professionals to better understand the needs of the clinician and the patient. Education and open panel discussions between research scientists and the dental professional foster innovative concepts that could lead to new technologies designed to improve patient care. During local study club meetings and think tank sessions, DenTeC faculty present scientific information in focused areas of research and then open the floor to round table discussions regarding the possible applications. Local study clubs are welcome to present potential topics for discussion. For more information contact Jennifer McDonald 404 407-7501.
